Bought a new laptop in Jan 2020. Installed the Canon MX490 drivers but can't print. Can't even print a test page.
All other computers in our house can print. Even our cell phones can print. The Canon MX490 is set up as a wireless printer. The new computer is an ASUS VivoBook 15. It has no network connection issues. It recognizes the MX490 during installation of the drivers.
Have uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers a few times with no success.

Hi dhufnagle.
If the printer is recognized during the installation, and is printing from the other computers, then the printer itself is set up and operating correctly. If the computer is using a VPN (such as for remote work), then it will behave as if on the remote network, and not on the network through which it's "tunneling."
If you've been using the "Add Printer" option in the printers list, then you are using Windows-produced drivers which may experience connection problems when the printer enters standby mode. Remove all entries labeled "Canon MX490," then run the MP Driver installation from the MX490 Drivers & Downloads page.
If the problem persists, check the Settings >> System >> About tab. If the computer is in S Mode, then it will only be able to use Canon drivers once S Mode is disabled (through the Windows Store). Once disabled, S Mode cannot be re-enabled without resetting the computer to factory settings.
