Canon MP830 ADF not feeding scanner

My Canon MP830 wont feed from the ADF in scanner mode.  It works in Copy mode but not in scan mode.

So that the Community can help you better, we will need to know if you're seeing any error messages.  We also need to know the Computer Operating System you're using (Windows XP/Vista/7/8 or Mac 10.x), as well as the software you're scanning from and the way you connect to your printer (USB or networked via WiFi or Ethernet).
