I am currently having the same problem. I just upgraded to Windows 10 from 8.1 on my Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro. I am connected with my printer/scanner via wireless.

I ran into the same problem with an MG3222 printer after upgrading to Windows 10, what worked for me was the following:
Click on start menu
Type in IJ Scan Utility (provided you have that downloaded)
Right click and select "Run as administrator"
Select "Yes" if prompted to do so
After this I was able to initiate a scan from my laptop. Keep in mind this is a different printer that I have but as long as the software is the same I don't see why this wouldn't work.
Canon - will there be an update for software and drivers to support Windows 10 that will allow users to bypass the run as administrator option? I'm sure it'll take you guys a while since there's new security setting in this version of Windows from previous versions.

Would also like to add I did this using a USB connection from the printer, might try that as well if you're going wireless right now.

Hm, for some reason on my laptop there is no choices when right-clicking the IJ Scan Utility; nothing pops up.
