Okay so before I used to have a Scanner working just fine in my Canon MG3100 Printer. Until it was one day that for some reason it just stopped working because instead a window appeared claiming that the USB cable isn't plugged to the computer or the scanner wasn't turned on. Neither was the problem for the scanner was really on and the cable plugged. The pop-up window claims this even though the printer just works fine.
Then one day I decided to remove all the related printer programs an reinstall everything. Turns out there was an MP Driver that wasn't installed correctly. I was able to diagnose and repair the printer to get it fixed though.
The problem now is that the diagnose and repairing didn't install the scanner like the way my CD-ROM used to. I tried reinstalling everything with the CD-ROM over and over again just to find myself having to fix it again like I mentioned in the second paragraph. During the first time I installed it though, everything installed fine and perfect, including the scanner.
I think the MP Navigator EX 5.0 is the problem. The window says:
Cannot start the MP Navigator EX. Check the following points.
1. The supported model of this software is as follows. Check your product model is listed.
Canon MG3100 series
When your product model is not listed, install correspondent MP Navigator or MP Navigator EX.
2. MP driver/scanner driver which supports your product model is installed.
3. Your product model is connected to PC properly and the power is ON, if there is a power supply.
4. Reconnect the USB cable when connected with USB.
I seem to have followed everything. I am using a Canon MG3100 series. My printer is on and the cable is connected.
I tried going to the Canon website only to find PIXMA MG3120 and PIXMA MG3122 series. Not the exact one I have. Only the former has available MP Drivers, and I tried installing from that too. It had the same message, except that the listed product models didn't include Canon MG3100 series.
Help here would be appreciated highly. I wish I could get this over with.
