Canon Inkjet Printer Series MG2500 error code 0x80244018

I have been trying to set up my printer but I keep getting an error message error code 0x80244018 "Canon Inkjet Print Utility, app wasn't installed". I having been going through the Windows Store. I have Windows 8.1. How can I fix this problem? Thanks for any help.

 

P.S. Sorry for the bold and large text. I got shingles and viral meningitis last Oct 2015 and was left blind in my right eye. Making text bold and larger helps me to see it a little better. Thanks

Hi BeKa,

 

Please try installing your PIXMA MG2520 using the driver available from Canon's web site:

 

 1.  Visit Canon's website at: http://usa.canon.com/support

 

 2.  Type PIXMA MG2520 in the "Enter a Model Name" box.

 

 3.  Under Recommended Downloads, please click the Select button next to "MG2500 series Full Driver & Software Package".

 

 4.  If you agree, please select the checkbox next to "I have read and agree to the terms of the Disclaimer and wish to continue with the download".

 

 5.  Click the Download button.

 

 6.  If a Save As box appears, click Save.

 

 7.  Once the download is complete, open your Downloads folder.

 

 8.  Double click [win-mg2500-1_1-ucd.exe].

 

 9.  Connect the USB cable when prompted.

 

Follow the prompts to install your PIXMA MG2520 on your computer.

hi.

printer mg2500 is in error state. not printing.

The error that you are experiencing is an indication that your PIXMA MG2500 would require service.

 

If your printer was purchased less than a year ago, please contact one of Canon's Technical Support Representatives via phone or chat. To contact a Technical Support Representative, please use the link below:

If your printer was purchased less than a year ago, it is out of warranty.  You are eligible for Canon's Upgrade Program. This is for out of warranty units which have been diagnosed to require service, or for some reason are incompatible with a new or upgraded system. This option allows you a one-time opportunity to purchase a replacement product, discounted from the list price.

after hours of trying to get the driver to install both from the disc and from the canon site and connection failing error when it was connected, I got around the obstacles, it's finally installed. Go to print the test page and get the error "printer out of paper" and it's not empty and I literally bought this printer hours ago get it installed and now this.... why are there so many issues with this unit working and what the heck is causing this error?
