I have a brand new, IX6820 I am trying to set up out of the box. The first page printed while following the insturctions to input in the ink carts. Once I connected to computer via USB cable, after failing multiple times to connect wirelessly. When clicking the "execute" button the print immediately goes to error-printing and no prompts or information as to what is causing it. When I go to windows settings and try a test print is the same thing. The power button is on and not flashing, the amber light below is NOT on and the wireless blue button is NOT on.
I've been struggling with this for so long and have no idea what to try or do because there is no prompt or explanation.

I suggest you start the Window install again. I assume your pc is using Windows11? How does the error indicate itself? Lights flashing on the printer? I believe it installs like the IP8720 which has one additional cartridge. I installed a new IP8720 printer for myself a week ago using a USB cable, I do not use wireless with a high resolution photo printer. I have had no issues at all. My large prints are now on exhibit in an art gallery in town. It was important that my printer work correctly.
To uninstall the Canon PIXMA iX6820 printer driver from a Windows computer, follow these steps:
Access Programs and Features
Select the Printer Driver
Uninstall the Driver
Restart Your Computer
To reinstall the Canon PIXMA iX6820 use this site, follow the steps as needed. This printer has a very slow initial setup time, it chugs and moves and the panel lights flash for quite some time. Just be patient.

Stick with the USB cable, for now.

Marking this as the solution however for people having the same problem, assuming you want 1. Wireless and 2. Have a cable. If so. Uninstall everthing, run the setup again. Choose wireless connection, and instead of the first two options, select the third option which will allow you use a cable to set up the wireless connection. It will prompt you for a password. It is NOT the serial number, NOT admin and NOT canon. Instead, make sure the printer is on, power button not flashing. Press the resume print button and hold until power button flashes 6 times, this will print a network configuration page with a password at the bottom. A mix of upper and lower case letters. Continue the prompts, select your network and put your network password in, then enter the printer password a second time if it comes up and finally the setup should complete. I had to really DIG and DIG to find that password information on various other posts.

I have heard the printer admin password s a chore to find. I use print and file sharing with my network and any device can print wirelessly to it through my pc seamlessly. Only one wireless tablet does that, If I want to print from my phone I use Windows link and just sent a file to the PC and print from there when I want to, which is close to never.
IX6820 is a very good photo and art printer. Did you consider using the Ethernet connection?
