Can't seem to install Pixma ip6700d with Windows 10

Hi all,

I screwed around with this for hours this morning.  The Canon page doesn't give me a driver for windows 10.  I would really like to use this printer.  Any suggestions on how to get my windows 10 computer to drive my printer?

Any suggestions would be wonderful.

I am using a Dell Precision M6800 computer with windows 10.  I can supply any other info if necessary.

Thanks,

Brian

Windows 10 drivers are not available for this printer.

"Canon will not issue drivers for this model to support the Windows 10 operating system. The Windows 7 or Windows 8 drivers should function in the Windows 10 environment with some limitations which are currently unknown to Canon."

Try windows 8 driver and use compatibility mode.  Better option, buy a new printer.  Yours is 7+ yrs old.

Hi brianraus,

As previously mentioned, you can try using the Windows 7 or Windwos 8 driver.  Please note, this is not supported and would be performed at your own risk.

You are eligible for Canon's Upgrade Program.  This is for out of warranty units which have been diagnosed to require service, or for some reason are incompatible with a new or upgraded system.  This option allows you a one-time opportunity to purchase a replacement product, discounted from the list price.

To help you get up and running quickly, we also offer free standard shipping (if the order is completed by 12:30PM ET).  If you would like to take part in this option, please call our Sales Department at (866) 443-8002 seven days a week, 8am to Midnight.  Let them know you have been working with technical support and the Canon Upgrade Program was offered.

I wish i found this before i updated to Windows 10... I called support and saw that this model is exclusively supported online.. So installing Windows 10 basically turned my printer into a paperweight? I wish i knew before i loaded new ink into it! Is there anything I can do aout this?

Hi Kat-Tastrophy,

Have you tried downloading and installing the Windows 8 driver?

https://www.usa.canon.com/internet/portal/us/home/support/details/printers/support-inkjet-printer/ip...

Once that page loads, please choose Windows 8 from the Operating System drop down box.

If you are using the 64 bit version of Windows 10, please select Windows 8.1 (x64) from the drop down box.
