Using MacBook Pro, OS 10.11.1 and MP Navigator EX. Have used scaner extensively in the past. Now I get message 2.249.0 "The scanner is not available while in use by another application or user." Unit is not in use for scanning, printing or copying. How to fix???

Hello.
The error may indicate that there is an issue with the printer itself. Check the LCD display of the printer to make sure that no errors or warnings are present.
If the printer is working correctly, try turning the printer off and back on, then restart your computer. Once this has been done try scanning again.
