Can a Pixma MX 490 be used for wired printing after initially set up with wifi?

Hi,

 

Can a Pixma MX 490 be used for wired printing after initially set up with wifi?  Wifi isn't available at the moment and I was hoping to print by connecting a cable between printer and computer.  However, after connecting the two, it's unclear to me how to print.  When I use the regular print menu and select the printer it doesn't print.  I can see a print que, but that's it.

 

 

The message given is that printer is not responding, check that the printer is plugged in, the power is on and properly connected to your computer.

 

 

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Hi LuckyDuck,

 

You can use your PIXMA MX490 with a USB cable and also wirelessly at the same time.

 

To resolve the issue that you are experiencing, please disconnect the USB cable and uninstall the drivers on your comptuer.

 

Once removed, please download the driver from our web site and reinstall on your computer, using the "USB connection" option in the installer.

 

If you need assistance with this, please reply to this post with the version of Windows that is installed on your computer.

 

If using a Mac, please reply with the version of OSX that is installed.
