Welcome to the forum!
So that the Community can help you better, we will need to know which version of Windows or macOS are you using? Do you connect to your printer using a USB cable or WiFi? Any other details you'd like to give will only help the Community better understand your issue. If this is a time-sensitive matter, click HERE search our knowledge base or find additional support options HERE
When you connected the printer did you select add printer on your computer or did you install the printer driver from the Canon website? IF you did not install the Canon driver, that could be part of the alignment issue?
If you are trying to perform the alignment directly from the printer, could you let us know if an error code appears when the alignment fails.
Also, check your computer for a Canon Utilities folder. In that folder should be a program called IJ Scan Utility. This program install with the Canon printer/scanner driver. If it is listed on your computer, open it and try to scan.
We look forward to your reply.
