Hi. Newbie over here.
I'm trying to print a photo using my Canon Pixma MP258, with media Photo Paper Plus Glossy II. I want to print it using black ink only because my picture only contains black colour.
Althought I've set the printer to use Black Ink only (and checked the Monochrome checkbox), it will force use colour when I hit Print. And what I get on my photo paper is my photo in purple colour.
I suppose that the printer is trying to mix the magneta, cyan and yellow ink to get black colour but it couldn't mix till pure Black colour - it gives me purple colour.
If I set media type as Plain Paper, it lets me to print using Black Ink only. It works fine, but the DPI (quality) is too low. I can easily see the pixel dots on the paper.
Perhaps the catridge ink got stuck or what. I dun know. But this is urgent. It's too late for my dad to change new catridge then. I've wasted 3 photo papers just because of this.
Any solution? I'm in rush for my school project. Thx.
*I'm on Windows 8.1 Enterprise x64 with latest driver from Windows Update installed.
