Hi, I'm having so much trouble getting my printer to work without the gaps in the printing when I print out. I can't reach anyone at Canon since I don't know the registration # on it. Help please. Thanks.

Based on your description of the issue, it would appear that the encoder is smudged or dirty.  Please follow the steps in the article linked below to clean the encoder:
