transfer pictures from computer to camara Sd card

HI

I have jpg pictures in my computer & I want to copy them to a camara card how to I do it

A camera is not a general photo viewer. I suspect that even if you copy the images to the camera SD card they might not show on your camera. You would want to copy the images into the 100CANON or similarly named folder that is in the DCIM folder.

You can copy all kinds of files to an SD card, providing it is in a suitable card reader. Many laptops have an SD card reader in them.

However the camera needs files in certain folders and conforming to specific file naming standards. If an image has been edited or is from a different camera then it is unlikely that your camera will display that image on the camera LCD. 

For example if I have an image on my computer, called IMG_0021.JPG and it was copied from another card that I used in my camera. I can copy this image from the computer to a second card and if I put it in the correct folder then the camera is likely to display it. 

You can do the copy operations with the standard file explorer / finder that your computer has.

CAUTION.  It’s a best practice not to share memory cards between different devices.  You can and will lose image files.  Use a smart device like a phone or tablet for viewing.
