I recently receive an email from Canon that the new firmware v1.5.1 for EOS R5 is available. I downloaded the firmware file, eosr5-v151-mac.dmg, to my iMac desktop computer. However, I tried to open this file by clicking it (to produce .fir file), but nothing happened. Anyone has seen the same issue? I appreciate any information on how to resolve it. My computer uses MacOS Monterey, version 12.2.1

Try this:
1. In Finder Preferences check show External Drives.
2. when you double click the .dmg file then you should see a disk icon appear.
3. double click that icon and it should open a folder that has the .fir file and a folder with instructions.

Hi John,
Thanks for your suggestion.
However, when I click the .dmg file, I did not see a disk icon appear.

Hi John,
Sorry that now I did see a disk icon, which contains the .fir file. Previously, I only looked my download directory which contains the .dmg file. Thanks so much!
