Did you mean:

Zoom Browser EX will not open

Phil777

I have been using Zoom Browser EX for years.

But suddenly Zoom Browser EX will not open and shows small window saying, "Critical Error, Invalid class string".
I tried opening a few other programs around it and they all opened ok.

I did a search for "Invalid class string" and came up with a few things but not  very helpful.

I am using Windows 10 64 bit.

Any ideas how to fix this please?

Thanks,

Phil.

Did you try deleting and reinstalling?

Are you running 6.9?

As I recall, Zoombrowser became obsolete several years ago and was replaced by Image Browser. I'm astounded if it ever ran on any version of Windows 10.

Jrh, yes, I deleted it and downloaded it again but alas it still gave me the same message when I tried to open it.

RTF, Obsolete it may have been for the last few years but it has been working perfectly well for me especially when viewing three photos together and choosing which one to save from a string of action photos.
You could also mark which ones to protect and then go back and delete those which were not protected.
Astounded you may have been but that is the truth!
Do you have any better Canon product that will do the same function as I mentioned?

Jrh75, sorry but what is 6.9?

RTF and Jrh75, it would appear that the latest Windows 10 download,

March 5, 2018—KB4090913 (OS Build 16299.251)

Applies to: Windows 10 version 1709

has been the cause of ZoomBrowser EX not working.

Phil - ZB 6.9 is the latest version. Download the updater from the Vista OS page if you don't have it. I have the same version of W10 (March 8 update) and ZB works fine.

Thanks John but what updater am I looking for on the Vista OS page please?
And how do I find the Vista OS page please?

Phil.

Canon Support site. I use page for EOS 1D Mark IV.

Use OS dropdown to Vista.
