Trying to download images from my Rebel XT SLR which I haven't used in 15 years. I have a Mac

I am now getting back to my Rebel XT and want to load images to my Mac computer. I am told to download EOS utilities but can not find one because my Mac run "Catalina"...help

In launchpad, there is a category "Other" and in that there is a program "Image Capture". If you have a USB cable that fits the connector on the camera, then I would expect "Image Capture" to work. It may be necessary to give permission to use the USB port.

I suggest that you use a card reader.  The camera software is no longer supported by Canon or Apple MacOS.

You can use Apple Image Capture.

Make sure your camera is set to PTP, not "PC Communication"

You are correct.........thanks..Image Capture is great AND easy with my Mac. I was told by Canon that they can not help with a battery replacement, so I checked with the manufacturer on the battery itself and they are available- Canon didn't suggest that.....they wanted to sell me a new camera instead. That cost is not in my budget at this point, being a advanced senior! I appreciate your help and I thank Canon for having this forum available.
