SX50 HS Firmware for Language Removal

I purchased an SX50 camera, and it supports multiple languages. I'd like to remove all languages except for English. To do this, I need the firmware. Can anyone provide it to me?

Greetings,

Lets put this to rest.

Cameras intended for sale in the US do not come with a single language firmware version.

This is not an option or something Canon offers.

I have read that some cameras produced and intended for sale in Japan do come in a 2-3 language version.  This is embedded in the hardware and even if you flash a different version of FW, only the 2-3 languages are selectable.

There is no single language version firmware available.  Once you select a language, all of the camera menus will (only) display in the language set.  If you are being continually prompted to select a language as Bob mentioned, your camera will likely require service.

Hope this answers your question.

Can I ask why? Once you select English, what is the issue?

While English is my primary language, I find that having multiple languages in the camera's menu can be a bit overwhelming and confusing for me. By removing the other languages, I hope to streamline the camera's interface and make it easier for me to navigate and access the settings I need quickly. It's just a personal preference for a simpler and more user-friendly experience.

Is this a serious question/desire on your part? Unless you press "SET" only one language displays. What does it matter how many other options are not displayed?

In any case, I require the firmware for English only. Does anyone have it?

There's a small amount of threads on here asking for the same thing.  As I've asked there, why?

As others have pointed out, unless you explicitly go into the language settings and change the language, you're not impacted at all.   The entire UI will be in the language you set.  No screens will present two, three, etc. languages at the same time.  Thus, the UI isn't being cluttered at all and thus there's zero effect on usability.

Only one language shows up in the camera, once selected. How do you see multiple languages after you make your selection of English?

I appreciate your question. What I meant is that when I initially set up the camera, I was presented with a list of multiple languages to choose from. Although I selected English during the setup, I noticed that the presence of all those other languages in the list made it feel a bit cluttered to me. So, I'm interested in updating the firmware to remove the unused languages from that initial setup list to make it cleaner and more organized, even though only English is currently active on the camera

Canon wouldn't have such a firmware to only have English as a language.

Once you select English in the language selection, you never have to visit that menu page again. I don't see an issue.

In any case, I require the firmware for English only. Does anyone have it?
