I have found a bug in the R7 firmware v1.2.0 through 1.6.0
With manual lenses that have no communication, the IBIS Image Stabilization is not working as expected. It is not using the correct "Focal Length" value that is inputed. IBIS is enabled, but it is ignoring the value that is set when turning the camera on. You can temporally fix this turning IS OFF, and then focusing with half press, then turning IS back ON. The R7 IBIS then behaves normally with the correct "Focal Length" value. When the camera is turned off, or goes to sleep it breaks again. This behaviour is best witnessed by using the 10x zoom through the viewfinder. You will see the effect of IBIS with IS ON as-is with incorrect value interpreted (Slight shake correction), with IS OFF (No shake correction), and finally with IS ON with correct value interpreted(Fantastic shake correction).

I think someone posted a link earlier in this thread.

I just talked to service staff via email. Log in MyCanon -> service and support -> email support. They respond pretty fast.
They insisted that this problem is solved in 1.5.0, which is not true for my R7, so they blamed it on my camera and asked me to send it back. I wonder if other people still have this IBIS problem.
1.5.0 and the more recent 1.6.0 don't work for me.

Does anybody still have this problem with firmware 1.5.0 and 1.6.0? I reported this but Canon staff said this has been solved in 1.5.0, and my camera is an outlier. I think they are talking bull**bleep** but still want to verify in the community.

Problem with ibis using third party lenses is occurring in firmware 1.5. in my R7.
After update to 1.6 problem is still there! Workaround to make ibis to work after having taken a picture is
My question: Has canon acknowledged the problem? And have they mentioned somewhere that with such or such update it should have been solved?
Kind regards
Herman

Problem is still there on the R7 even with the latest firmware 1.6.0.
IBIS works for the first shot. Once taken, IBIS is broken. Everything is shaky. If I go into IS Mode and turn it OFF and hit the focus/aper lock button, then set IS Mode to ON IBIS works again SOMEWHAT. It goes to smooth to jerky at random. Like it's confused that IBIS is on or not.
I really wish they'd fix IBIS. It's why this dang camera is so expensive. It's a $500 premium that hasn't worked since it was released.

Hi! I have some good news!
I did some more tests today and these are the results for my R7 and falcon 8mm fisheye lens after updating to firmware 1.6.
When you freshly start the R7 up,the first foto ibis is ok. The second foto ibis is not working. But after setting ibis off and back on, from then on, every foto ibis is ok. The same with waking the camera up after sleep mode. So in my experience after setting ibis off and on ibis is working for every foto you take until you shut R7 down or until it goes not sleep mode
