Looking for EOS Utility and more for EOS-1Ds Mark II

Hi,

EOS 1Ds MARK II
EOS 600 film x 2 (1 for colour 1 for B & W film)
EF 70-200MM f:4 L
EF 50mm f:1.8
EF 35-70 f:3.5-4.5
EF 28-80 f:3.5-5.6 II
EF 35-105 f:3.5-4.5

I was a Canon user a long time ago and the 350D (Rebel) was my introduction to canon dSLR's. After that I had a 450D then a 20D.
My photography hobby had to take a break due to real life getting in the way and forcing me to sell my cameras.

Several years passed and I am now in a position to get back into the hobby. I have bought 3 used cameras, all canon...
2 x EOS 600 film cameras with lenses and a 1Ds Mark II. I also bought a 70-200mm f4 L lens.

I am looking for either Iso's of the software disks or zip files of the software. Canon seems to have removed the ISO's for the older cameras from all of their websites and it seems they have also removed most of the software updates for the 1Ds MKII.

I realise this is a question that has been asked before but I didn't feel comfortable jumping in on someone elses post from a year ago.

The main thing I am looking for is the EOS Utility so I can experiment with the personal  functions. I have downloaded a copy of the software but it only communicates over LAN or wifi.

The EOS-1Ds Mark II has a FireWire port to communicate with a computer, and most computer operating systems dropped support for this in recent times. Canon software no longer supports firewire connections. If you can get older editions of the software they are not likely to run on a modern Windows 11 or Mac OS Sequoia machine anyway.

Thanks for the response. I am aware of the difficulties re the camera and recent OS's but I have an old laptop running Win XP SP3  and I'm just trying to source the original software disks in any one of the physical meadia, ISO images of the media or zip files. I know that it's akin to looking for a needle in a field of haystacks but hoping that someone somewhere has preserved these for posterity 🙂

This lists the 1Ds Mark III. Maybe try it.

The 1Ds Mark II has a USB Mini B  terminal. The camera originally included a Mini B to A cable for connecting to a PictBridge printer. Manual does not show any other use for it.  Is this the only function the USB terminal can provide?

It's also curious that EOS Utility 2.11 and 2.9 manuals do not show the 1Ds Mark II in their compatibility lists. Does this camera work with EU?

From what I can gather, the usb port is only for printing and copying images to (and maybe from) the computer. To communicate with the camera for personal functions you need firewire and the correct software.

Thanks for that link, I'll give it a go. The MKIII was on sale from 2007 so not much younger then the MKII. I'll get back once I've tested.
Well, that was a bust. Clicking on the download buttons does nothing. I even tried in another browser but still the same result. Guess I'll have to keep searching and hoping something turns up.
