Hi Everyone,
I am in France taking pictures of Romanesque churches, and have gotten some marvelous shots in Burgundy, the Loire Valley, and the Dordogne (with my 5DSR with no low-pass filter, so wonderful architectural detail). In RAW the files are in the high 60MBs. When I work the RAW files they are saved as PSD files and are up to 130MB.
My question:
How can I convert the PSDs to reasonable size JPG or JPEGs to use in Powerpoint presentations or to send via email?
All best,
Howard

There are two main ways to reduce image file size, reduce the resolution and increase the compression.
For email size and presentations, even on 4K projector or Tv a 3940 x 2160 resolution is 1:1 with the pixels. Reducing your original images in Photoshop with the image size tool to fit in this dimension will be step 1. You can of course go smaller such as 1920 x 1080 pixels. Then save the images with JPG compression set to around 6. The image detail will be reduced a little but the file size will reduce a lot. If you are using Lightroom you can also create an export preset to do this it can fit the resolution and JPG percentage in one step. You will of course keep the full detail PSD file.
