Firmware DL issues on library computer

Brian0410

Hi so I'm trying to dl the firmware  update for my camera on a library computer, because I don't my other two sources OS aren't compatible supposedly.  The DL section "software and drivers" wont open up when I click on it. The computer is running Windows 10, so it should work. Is this problem because of the particular computer I am using?

Talk to the librarian. It may be that the computer is set up not to allow downloads.

Brian0410,

To put it mildly,

As a Librarian myself, we generally frown on people downloading things that change how the library's equipment works.

Camera firmware doesn’t affect how the computer works.

But there still may be a download block.

John,

The original poster said he wanted to get into the library computer's "software and drivers".

No Library worth its salt is going to allow that.

Steve Thomas

I read it to mean the DL section of the Canon site, but maybe I was incorrect.

John,

No. I think you're probably right.

I think I overreacted.

As a follow up, had someone else try on their computer, it seems it's no longer available to dl. They ran into the same circle I did.
