Based on postings elsewhere it seems to be a bug in latest Catalina update.

It is not just Canon that has been affected by the latest release. I think Apple has released an update this week for mobile devices. Apple also released a statement apologizing for the issues, and said that they were working with developers to fix the problems.

I'm so sad, every **bleep**ing xmas the EOS utility for some reason don't work.
It's the third holiday off in a row! 😞

canon solved this problem. i just install all software downloaded from canon - usa site. all programs work very well. last version dated on 03 - 2020.
