After a mother board upgrade, EOS utility no longer recognizes my EOS R camera when connected via USB cable to download images. Interesting, it still recognizes my 5D Mk IV and 6D Mk II and they work fine. I have updated both the EOS utility and the EOS R firmware and it did not solve the issue. Windows 10 sees the camera when I plug it in, it even "dings", but EOS utility does not come on. It also does not work even if I manually load the EOS utility before or after plugging in the camera. Ideas?

It is possible to connect the camera via Wireless mode to the pc.
However, the transfer speed is slower, and it takes too many button pushes in my opinion (to connect pc to the right network, and to tell your camera to which device to connect).
I would suggest to use the USB port, you can purchase a USB dongle/hub with multiple ports. Example for UK
The only other alternative that I can see is to use a Card reader, this will be a fast method, and depending on your pc or laptop, you may not loose a port.
There are some options, but none of them are perfect. Considering the money you invested, it is far away from acceptable in my opinion, but I doubt that they will release a firmware update anytime soon to address this.
