EOS Utilities 2 not working with Canon 450d

Canon eos utilities is not working on my MacBook Pro, I updated to High Sierra 10.13.2 recently and when I open utilities with my camera plugged in the first 3 options are greyed out include remote shooting which I really need to use. Could anyone please help me sort this out?

If you have WiFi ENABLED turn it OFF the camera will only connect via USB with it disabled.

A 450D hasn't the slightest idea what WiFi is.
