Canon Utility fails tethered capture in Mac OS Catalina 10.15.2

It seems the latest mac os update 10.15.2 broke Canon's EOS Utility.  It no longer can see my camera after the OS update.  
Uninstalling and reinstalling has no effect.
as soon as the EOS Utility is run, the camera disconnects itself from the computer and reconnects after the EOS Utility closes/crashes just before it gives and error that it cannot connect to the camera. 
I hope Canon can fix this.  it was fine in 10.15.1

Anyone know any news of an update or fix for this yet?

"Unfortunately, we have to inform you that we have not yet received an update of our EOS Utility software from our headquarter in Tokyo, which fixes the problem under Mac OS 10.15 that has existed since the update to 10.15.2 on December 11, 2019. In addition, we have not received a date yet from when the update will be available.

Mac OS Catalina 10.15.3 update released today fixes the tethering issue.

Has anyone did the update and can confirm that the tethering is working between Lightroom, Canon, and Catalina?

This is insane! Has anyone found a work around? Looks like Capture One has been able to fix the issue, but the rest of us Canon Utilities folks are left in the dust... after reverting to 10.15.1 Apple has dropped the "Mail" app support so now I'm stuck buying an email application to be able to continue shooting tethered. Canon help us out!
