Camera Connect App not working

A month ago I got a new Apple 8 with IOS 12 on it.
I got it Connected to my EOS 70D and had it working.
It was not always connecting easily but it would connect.
Today while trying to download pictures on a holiday it won’t connect.
At first it Connected but only showed about 6 pictures.
When I selected a picture to view and download. After waiting a minute or 2. The picture was still blurry and could not download.
I tried reboot on phone and camera. This time it just showed black squares where the picture should be.
I have now deleted and tried everything but cannot get the App to connect to the camera.
When I go through the App setup I can assign the SSID and the camera shows the connection but stays on that page and never completed the configuration with the phone.
There was a recent update on my iPhone and there is a selection which leads me to believe there was an update to the app.

Thank William!
I know when I was having a problem I did delete the App and reboot the phone.
I thought I had deleted the WiFi settings on the camera as well.
I did delete the App and reboot the phone.
Then I deleted the WiFi settings on the camera and rebooted it.
Installed the App and setup the WiFi connection on the camera.
It Connected as soon as I started the app and all is good!
Thanks again.

I am on IPhone 8 with iOS 12.4.1 and I have just downloaded some shots from my 70D.

I see there is iOS 13 waiting to install but will wait until my Vacation is finished before I take a chance on it.

So far I am not seeing an iOS 13 update, I will wait to see what happens...

Hello everyone,

We've put together this step-by-step video of connecting the SX620 HS to an iOS device:

If issues persist, I suggest that you give us a call EST at (800)652-2666 from M-F 9am-7pm. Certain Wi-Fi issues are easier to resolve over the phone.

Thank you!  I'll give it a try.

Called Canon, Mike and I tried EVERYTHING and can’t find the issue. We don’t think it’s my phone as we tried it with my iPad and still no joy. The phone sees the wifi, the iPad sees the wifi, but the camera won’t connect. Went out and got a brand new camera. Guess what won’t connect? I believe this is Canon Camera Connect/iOS related. App may need an update?

Oh and the iOS 13 update hasn’t shown up yet for me.

Ok further update: a friend has the exact same camera but is not on iPhone, so we did a little experiment - he connected his camera to his smartphone, no problem. Then I connected to his camera with my iPhone - again no problem, so a-ha, maybe NOT the app? Then he tried to connect his smartphone to my camera - no dice. And of course I can't connect to my own. So now I am wondering if it might be either the SD card or the battery, as I swapped them from the old camera to the new one? I mean I can't see why but maybe? Testing the theory tomorrow.

Koshka42,

That's interesting.  I would doubt that it is the card or battery but what have we got to lose at this point!  Maybe check to see if you both are using the same firmware on your cameras?  Maybe one of you updated and the other didn't and that's what's screwing it all up.

Further further update, sorry for the delay - it was DEFINITELY the SD card, it was corrupted. I had to get the tech guys at Best Buy to rescue my pix from the card, and with a new card in it connected just fine. Mystery solved, for me at least!
