Where is the User Guide for the Camera Connect App? Also, why doesn't his app transfer images with the location information?
That being said, I have successfully installed and used the app with my G7X. My informal User Guide for using this app is as follows. Any suggested "improvements" to this guide would be appreciated.
Getting Started and 1st Time Connecting

Note that when you use Camera Connect's "Remote Shooting" the images are stored on your camera and not automatically copied to your smartphone photo gallery. Use Camera Connect's "Images on Camera" to transfer the photos from the camera to your smartphone. Keep in mind that if you are GPS data logging with Camera Connect's "Location Information" feature, the GPS data does not transfer to your smartphone when using "Images on Camera" transfer feature (Cannon please fix this!). To transfer images to your smartphone with the GPS data, I copy images from the camera's SD card directly to my smartphone via a SD adapter cable.

Thanks, npsit, for a useful guide.
One correction, applicable to a G5X at least. You say:
>> 5. When operating via Remote Shooting, the camera only works in “P” mode.
However, in the G5X user guide it says:
>> "P" mode is used for shooting in modes other than "P", "Tv", "Av", "M" and "C"
I have taken 50+ photos in M mode, and it works OK. However, to change mode on the camera it seems to require that you reselect "Remote shooting" in the App, else it will not detect the change.
The paucity of the information about remote shooting in the G5X user guide surprises me, in comparison with the other options. For the record I can change ISO, aperture, exposure, and switch flash on / off. I can zoom in and out. I can click to set the point of focus. There's a big shutter button to shoot and, next to it, a smaller button which appears to act as a half-press of the shutter. I was searching for a description of the user interface when I found this thread.
Finally, in my version of the App (1.3.10.21) the control of Location information is within a separate menu item called just that, not within Remote shooting.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!! The manual was pretty much useless to me, but following your instructions I was able to connect and transfer photos the first time I tried.

I recently upgraded to IOS 10 on my iphone6. After that the Canon Camera Connect software does not work. Cannot connect powershot S110 to iphone6. I deleted and reinstalled the app. Still does not work. I then installed the outdated Canon Camera Window software AND IT WORKED !!!???? How can I get the Canon Camera Connect software to work ???

Ridiculous that a major corporation like Canon seems to have a software / firmware division run my a bunch of amateurs. These type of constant failures are unacceptable.

I am able to still connect my iOS 10.0.2 iPhone 6 to my G7X camera. If you are having problems connecting, try to reset your camera (See post 22 above for info on resetting camera). Good luck.

I am using a Canon sx60hs and an iphone 5 with the Canon Camera Connect App. I start logging before taking photos. I can then connect the camera to the Iphone. The camera/phone connects OK. I can view images. I can do remote shooting. Adding locations adds the same location to all the photos, the location when I started logging. The system used to work for me but now it doesn't. Anyone any ideas?

Have you checked to see if your camera has the same time as your iPhone? Location logging requires the two devices to have their clocks in sync. I am not to sure how close they need to be (within 1 minute, within 1 hour, etc.?).

The times are the same on both devices. I have been a long way out of sync on my travels and it always seems to work OK. I think I have been hours out and it as still worked.
