Most remote shutters should work, especially if they look the same as the Canon one, but to be sure just get the Canon brand unit.

The only way to remotely release the shutter on the EOS 4000D is using the Canon camera connect smartphone app. The camera has no connection for a remote control on the body, nor does it have a bluetooth function. You need to use the Wifi in the camera and connect the smartphone to the camera to trigger the shutter remotely.

Thank you. After looking at what remote I can use for my eos 4000d I couldn't find one that states it works with my camera. And using this app has helped so much and I haven't wasted my money on a remote that may or may not work.
