I'm still using the one from 2018 that I got from 5DMKIV, since it has a retractable plug and I dislike power chords that came with other chargers from newer Canon cameras.
The batteries are charged normally, but I'm wondering is there any harm by charging new batteries on a charger that has been in use for over 7 years? Do capacitors wear down? If so, should I use newer chargers (that I just got with R7), just in case?
Thanks.

While it's generally safe to use an older charger for newer batteries, newer chargers might offer advanced charging technologies for better battery health. Consider the condition of your older charger and your specific needs. If in doubt, using a newer charger is a safer option.

Yeah that's what I thought, but then again, both chargers have exactly the same specs. It's just that one is cordless (the non-E version) and the other is not. The cordless is +7y older.
You may be right, although when I wrote my message I was thinking about PC power supply unit, with lots of capacitors, that is known to work for 10+ years almost 24/7 under load without problems.
My only concern are the batteries, since I use original Canon ones (expensive) I want them to last the longest they can.
