Correct cable for Canon WM-V1

I'm trying to find the correct cable for the Canon WM-V1

When I use more expensive cables with an option for mic (mini jack 3 poles) it outputs only to the left channel.

When I use my second original cable, it outputs stereo (2 channels).

Since I have 2 sets of the Canon WM-V1, I want to use them both. Does anyone know which cable I can use to get proper stereo sound?

Thanks in advance,

Jeroen

Thanks

I'm not 100% clear how many cables you have.

Do you have TWO WM-V1 cables?

And one produces stereo and the other doesn't?

And you test both plugged into the same port on your camera?

Are other cables you've tried stereo cables?

If one cable produces stereo and others don't, you have bad cables and/or mono cables.

Thanks for replying and helping 🙂

1 have one cable that was supplied when I bought it.

The other cable is missing, so I am trying to replace it. It seems to have a mono mic output. I've tried multiple cables with 4 poles and then can't mimic the stereo mic output of the original cable.

"It seems to have a mono mic output."

The mic output is either mono or stereo. A stereo output not producing both channels is not a mono output. It is a defective stereo output. If numerous cables are not doing the job, you have a bad microphone.

Thanks for replying 🙂

I went to a special audio company, and they measured the native Cable from Canon. And it's not a TRRS or TRS, but a special fabricated one with a special condenser/modifications in there. So the only option is to find a canon specialist who can tell me where I can find this special cable with modification.

Try calling our parts desk at 866-481-2569 to see if they have it.
