Hello Canon,
I'm an owner of the BG-R10 battery grip and am on the pre-order list for the soon-to-be-released R6Mk3. I noticed that my BR-R10 works (kinda) with my R5Mk2 but since it doesn't recognize the LP-E6P battery, some functions are disabled. Since the new R6Mk3 will use the same battery, COULD YOU PLEASE, PRETTY PLEASE UPDATE THE FIRMWARE IN THE BG-R10 to be fully compatible with the new battery (and associated cameras)? I'm as much of a Canon fanboy (been using Canon gear for over 50 years) as the next guy (or gal), but the battery grips are grossly overpriced. Please help me and fellow photographers maximize our investment.
Thanks,
Marc

I don't know if that will happen since the -R10 wasn't intended for the R5 Mark II.

Thanks for responding John.
It doesn't hurt to ask. ;^)

Any updates on this? With the price of the grips, it really should be compatible for at least 3 - 5 generations. You cant expect people to have to buy all new accesories with every upgrade - it disincentivizes upgrading, it makes us feel nickel dimed, and if it wasnt for this sort of business practice, Canon would have a significantly larger market share. I shoot with 3 photographers that all left Canon, want to come back because they love the new cameras AF performance and some of the lenses, but got felt stabbed in the back over stuff like this.
