Xa10 xlr inputs

My xlr inputs are greyed out when attempting to record external. Camera doesn’t allow me to access those to adjust nor will camera record from any external mic. Thoughts?

Does your external mic need phantom power?  If so, is the XLR terminal switch set to "MIC+48V"?

Thank you but that is not the issue.  It’s as if I don’t have the upper XLR /handle attached.   Thought there may be a setting that I need to change so the camera would recognize the XLR.
