In card mode, my  XHA1S shows images perfectly but in tape mode, only color bars appear.

Thanks for the post.

There is a switch in between the Gain switch and the White Balance switch called the Output switch.  Make sure it is set to [CAM].  If it is set to [BARS], color bars will be displayed.
