I just got a Vixia HF21 and the Start/stop on the camera does not work. It works fine on the Display, but not on the camera. There is an Icon that looks like a solid gear that says "off". but I can not find it in the owners manual and am not sure if it is even related. Is the button broke, or is there a way to disable it?
Thanks

Hi CGBowhunter!
Thanks for posting.
If at any time the camcorder is still accessing the memory (access light will be flashing), the START/STOP button will not start recording. Look to make sure the light is not longer on, then try pressing the START/STOP button.

Well unfortunately it appears the main Start/stop button is broke. And even more unfortunate, I found canon longer supports the the Hf21. Ended up finding a HF R 400. Should be here next week.
Happy recording
