I used the camera two weeks ago and it worked fine. The battery which came with the camera didn't seem to hold a charge, but if the camera was plugged in it worked fine. I have multiple batteries from when I took this camera to sporting events and some of those seem to hold a charge ( meaning I charged them in the charger port and when I put them back a day later it shows green)
I have been transferring a lot of old videos and using both old tape camcorders and this one to preview while things were transferring. I have two Canon charger adapters and I know they both work because they both will power my older Canon ZR65. I may have left the Vixia plugged in overnight. Would that have somehow damaged it? I read one person suggesting the camera may be registering an overcharge and I needed to somehow dissipate it. I have tried the reset button, but that had no impact. Any thoughts?
I would like to use it to record some interviews with older relatives, so any insight would be appreciated.
