Phantom power battery drain

Does anyone know whether using phantom power on the XA range of camcorders makes a significant drain on the batteries?

As you suggested, providing phantom power to a microphone is draining the battery, so you might see a slight dropoff in how many minutes the battery can last between charges, but it shouldn't be a drastic one.
