Hi. I'm trying to use my Legria HF G70 as a Webcam. I know this should be possible using HDMI out and a capture card as well as using USB.
I did connect the camera using USB and it works.
Would there be any advantage in using HDMI out and a capture card? What would this be?

Possibly better resolution and less lag. There is a reason that live full-res video is not sent over USB 1.1.

Is there a capture card that you would recommend?

I have some success with USB connected to PC (windows 10). The key is to configure USB mode to UVC (remove the physical connection before configuring). It is in System setup panel 2 (remote terminal, battery info, USB mode, cert info Reset all) of Media setup while panel 3 in Camera mode. Then in the device manager of windows you will see the unit under camera. It worked for zoom and skype for me.

I did get a cam link 4k capture card and connected the camera to that using hdmi. However, i still only get 1920x1080. Is there any way to make it produce 4k video instead?
