How do I turn on advanced zoom? Camcorder HFR40. User manual is unclear to me. Thanks

Thanks for posting.

Please do the following to enable Advanced Zoom:

Note: Advanced Zoom is not available in the Auto mode.

  1.  Touch the [Home] icon on the upper-left of the screen to open the Home Menu.
  2.  Open the Main Functions Menu. The icon for it looks like a movie camera with a sprocket on it.
  3.  Select [Zoom Type].
  4.  Select [Advanced].
