Filming a sports game using the internal microphone only, there are 100 segments (files) on the card. Most of them are fine but several of them start out fine but about half way through the audio tracks go to zero (no sound). The sound returns on the next segment then half way through it goes to zero again. This is an old camcorder that I bought new and only recently has it started doing this.

Hi frankbreen,
Thanks for checking in with us!
A couple of things to check. First, as you may have seen, the camera's internal microphone is located on top of the camera by the cold shoe. Make sure that it is not obstructed while recorded.
It might also help to try different memory cards or to initialize the ones you are using. Doing so cleans up the card and reduces the possibility of corrupted data. Note that initializing a card will erase all the video clips on it, so be sure to back it up first. After you've backed it up, you can look for the INITIALIZE option in the menu.
Let us know if problems persist.
