I recently dusted off my ES60 camcorder in an effort to transfer home videos to digital format. I did about 8 tapes successfully, but then started to get no video displayed in the view finder or on TV. The tapes insert properly, and plays, rewinds, fast forwards and ejects, it just doesn't show the content. I also replaced the memory battery as it was saying it needed replacement.
Am I missing a setting, or is there an internal issue?
Any assistance would be appreciated as I still have some tapes that need to be transferred.

Thanks for letting us know what Canon product you've got. The ES 60 is an older model which we have retired. While that means that Canon USA no longer offers direct support for it, your friends here in the Canon Community are welcome to offer suggestions!
You can also speak with a Canon Upgrade Program specialist to help you score a modern replacement that would meet your current needs at a discount. You can reach them weekdays and Saturdays at 1-866-443-8002.
Hope this helps!

If it showed before, and does not play now, it sounds like the display died. However, you might still be getting the stream over firewire, so you may be able to still get the movies to the computer.
