Canon G20 does not read battery charge!

I have a Canon G20. I have three batteries, BP 808, BP809 (both Canon) and BP827 (Watson). When I charge these batteries on the camera, it charges fine and reads the charge fine too. But when I charge the BP809 and BP827 on a Watson charger, even when charger has turned green (fully charged indication), when I insert the batteries into the camera, it gives the same charge as it was before charged. BP 808 even when charged with Watson charger works and is read fine by the camera. Camera recognizes all batteries, but the charge is not recognized if batteries are charged on Watson Charger. Any idea???

UPDATE: BP 827 is being read fine after charge on Watson charger but BP 809 not. But when I insert the fully charged BP809 onto the camera it does not read the charge, but if I let it to charge on the camera, it charges for less than a minute and shows correct charge.

At least you're getting a charge. I've tried Duracell, Some strange off brand from BatteryARC (that still hasn't given me my credit) and now SK (not Watson) and none will charge. Has cost me $10 so far in shipping.

You mention that the batteries can charge fine and work fine with the Canon branded equipment.  That the only issue is when you use the Watson charger.  I'm sorry this happens but we cannot guarantee third party equipment such as that.  It is not made nor supported by Canon and the effects of using it cannot be predicted.

Anytime there is third party power equipment involved it's at your own risk.  Canon first party batteries and chargers have electronics and safeguards not found in third party devices.  Therefore we only recommend the use of Canon first party accessories.
