Can't film in color

I'm ready to punch my face in.

I have a Canon XA10 and for some reason it is stuck filming in black and white and I can't get it into color.  I'm really frustrated.  Also, the options under function like rec. programs, white balance, and exposure are all greyed out.  I've tried searching the manual but have come up short in finding an answer.

Please help!

Is your footage actually ending up in black and white?  Or is your footage in color and on the cam's LCD display, it's only showing in black and white?  If the latter, there's a setting to have the LCD display a black & white image when peaking is enabled (page 52 of the manual).

As to why some things are disabled such as white balance, is the cam in full automatic mode?  What happens if you select manual, or a mode such as Program (P)?

Turns out it was in infrared mode and I feel dumb.  Thank you so much for taking the time to help!!!
