My Canon Legria HF G10 camcorder has been working fine for years, but for some reason I can't download the video file I shot last night.
I am using Windows 7 Professional 64 bit.
My PC recognises the camcorder when I plug it in with the USB cable, but when I try to import the video file using the Transfer Utility to download the video I get the following message:
The power supply and USB cable are both connected and working.
If I try to access the camcorder via Windows Explorer I get the following message:
I'm also receiving messages asking me to format the G drive to make it compatible - which I obviously don't want to do.
I have re-connected the camcorder and restarted my PC mulitple times. I have also uninstalled and then reinstalled the Transfer Utility. None of these actions have had any effect.
The video is definitely stored in the camcorder's internal memory. How do I get the file onto my PC?
Regards,
Aaron

Doesn't that model have SDXC-compatible card slots? For now, just to get the video out before it becomes corrupted, if it already isn't, try to copy the internal memory to another card in one of the extra slots. Your computer should be able to read the card using a USB card reader.
