i can only add the airprint version. i can't even add the IJ version? So frustrated!!

it just says cannot find printer. i am hooking up my cable to the pro-310 and using the usb adapter c to hook up to my laptop. it does not show the printer at all. I am also trying to set up wirelessly. it recognizes the air print but not the IJ ...
