Canon Pixma MG3051 - printing w/o color ink cartridges

Hi, I'm thinking of buying a Pixma MG3051, but 99% of my printing will be b&w. Does anyone know if the printer will work w/o color cartridges installed (to save money)? Edit: I'm also interested in MG4250
