Ok, until you find a better budget you will be pleased with photos taken using liveview.

Please try using the camera with liveview it will always nail focus. Please try using another lens. Mabye it's a lens issue.

wushuyvr:  It doesn't seem same problem. Did you try focusing with liveview?  It's fast and accurate in 70D.  Did you tried another lens?
