Would you mind elaborating on what it is exactly you don't like about the Browser Remote? Most people I show it to really love it. I work with Canon and we train people on this camera all the time, so I'd like to get your input.
Jessica, it sorta sounds like you didn't give the camera time to "close out" the file -- like maybe you switched to media before stopping the recording.
No 59.94P MP4 is not the same. If AVCHD conversion is out of the question, you would be best off using an external recorder and recording the HDMI output in ProRes @ 59.94i.

Yes, it is possible. In order to change the aperture without the grip unit attached all you need to do is assign two buttons on the camera body to Iris + and Iris -. Hope this helps.
