During a recent telephone call with Canon, I was told by a "knowledgeable" Canon tech rep that a new print head isn't the solution, and not the issue, and not to waste the time or money to try a replacement print head in order to clear the error code...
I can't believe it. Canon actually sent me an email "survey" asking how much I liked their Customer Support. Although I didn't blast the rep, I let the company have it with both barrels. I doubt anything will come of it, though.
You won't get the error to stay away; it's a firmware/hardware issue. Eventually, the U052 error will no longer clear, and you will be in the same boat as the rest of us.
