EOS 6D-images won't upload to MAC. Error reads file unrecognizable format.

This is my third Canon EOS camera on the same MAC OS x 10.6.8 desktop.  Have not experienced any trouble uploading images into iPhoto before.  My new camera is a 6D.  I formatted the memory card in the camera.  I even thought it was a bad card & boug...
