Glad it worked...the last steps IMO have to do with your OS. I have Win 8.1 64 bit.Still waiting for Canon to update driver.

You're Welcome! Thanks for the feedback...I'll use this work-around on my other PC's. BTW...now the scanner button on Paint doesn't work, but I don't use it anyway : )
